Residents and Public Health Emergency Preparedness Guidelines

With dual roles as health-care providers and as trainees, medical residents play a significant role in addressing public health emergencies. These guidelines, prepared by the Council of Ontario Faculties of Medicine, make recommendations for institutions where medical residents would be providing service during a public health emergency, specifically regarding the following areas:

  • Communications and resident representation
  • Training, supervision and assignment
  • Vaccinations, safety, illness and treatment
