A nurse researching ways to improve end-of-life care and a hospital that brings learning to life for hundreds of student nurses each year are two of the well-deserving winners of the 2015 Council of Ontario University Programs in Nursing (COUPN) annual awards for excellence in nursing.
In all, 10 awards will be handed out April 22 in Toronto, recognizing the Ontario nurse educators, scholars, students and agencies in provincial and clinical settings who provide exemplary nursing education and research that help to advance patient care in the province.
“The 2015 COUPN award winners are examples of Ontario universities’ many outstanding nursing students, faculty, researchers and health program partners, and the extraordinary value these women and men add to our province’s health-care system,” says COU President and CEO Bonnie M. Patterson.
“Ontario universities are conducting innovative research, building the skills of our future nurses and giving students the hands-on learning experiences needed to produce nurses who are second to none.”
