On behalf of all of the team at the Council of Ontario Universities, it is with great enthusiasm that we congratulate Dr. Mohamed Lachemi on his appointment today as Ryerson University’s ninth President and Vice-Chancellor.

Dr. Lachemi has an impressive background in postsecondary education, having been an accomplished administrator as well as a researcher and an award-winning teacher.

He joined the COU table as Interim President last year, and we now look forward to continuing to work with him in his new capacity as President.

I know he will serve Ryerson students, faculty and the university community well.
