New hirewesternu campaign connects potential employers with Western students and alumni

What makes Western University talent extraordinary? How can Western graduates help small, medium and large-sized enterprises thrive? And how can Western help businesses recruit talent for their organization?

These questions and more will be answered on Thursday, March 5 as Western’s Student Success Centre launches the new hirewesternu campaign from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at The Great Hall, Somerville House.

It is expected that 100 to 125 employer representatives from London and southwestern Ontario will attend the event, which offers targeted programming and insight into why Western graduates are ideal candidates for employment in the ever-changing global marketplace.

hirewesternu is designed to connect more employers with extraordinary talent from Western,” says Jeff Watson, Western’s Employer Relations Team Manager. “It simplifies the employer’s experience recruiting from Western, providing a centralized pathway and delivering service. hirewesternu will increase the number of employers recruiting from Western and increase the number of co-op, internship and practicum opportunities available to students.”

Watson and his teammates at the Student Success Centre have connected with hundreds of employers over the years and have learned that the qualities most often attributed to Western graduates are: high achieving, community engaged, research oriented, entrepreneurial, global ready and leaders of tomorrow.
