Core Curricula for Entry-to-Practice Health and Social Care Worker Education in Ontario

This needs assessment – one of five commissioned to look at implementing recommendations in Dr. Sinha’s Living Longer, Living Well report – focuses on core curricula related to the care of seniors in health and social care workforce entry-to-practice programs. The report explores the views of educators, accreditors and regulators about the potential need to enhance entry-to-practice education in the area of seniors’ care, looks at the availability of published gerontological and geriatric competency documents, examines best practices in several jurisdictions, and identifies priority areas for moving forward.
