International medical graduates (IMGs) undergo a mandatory period of assessment to determine if they can function at their appointed level of training, prior to full acceptance into a medical program. IMGs who plan to return to their home country after completion of training undergo an assessment known as the Pre-entry Assessment Program (PEAP). This policy provides guidelines for Program Directors who are performing PEAP assessments for international medical graduate students.
